IXI-UMS and the Service SMS
- With IXI-UMS, you can send and receive short messages (SMS), directly integrated into your messaging system. This example shows the creation of of the SMS as e-mail in the mail client. The IXI-UMS Server handles the sending and the reception of the messages.
Sending and Receiving Short Messages via the Service SMS
IXI-UMS, serVonic's powerful unified messaging server, supports the Service SMS (Short Messaging Service). With it, you can send and receive an SMS directly from the workstation client/server-based.
The Service SMS of the IXI-UMS Servers can be used stand-alone (pure SMS-server) or as part of a unified messaging system, at which the services SMS, Fax, Voice and Mobile (remote inquiry) are integrated into a messaging system via IXI-UMS.
IXI-UMS is integrated into available architectures like Microsoft Exchange Server or IBM Lotus Domino via Connectors and can be operated with common PBX's (ISDN, IP-based or analog).

When a user is away from the office, you can send him an SMS directly from the workstation, e.g. if a flight is delayed or an appointment is postponed.
