With Microsoft's Exchange Server 2007, integrated unified messaging features for fax reception, voice box and mobility are available for the first time. serVonic offers companies that want to make use of these Microsoft unified messaging features an IXI-UMS Special Edition, that adds the lacking UM-features fax sending, fax reception and fax sending and/or SMS.

IXI-UMS Enterprise or Special Edition

IXI-UMS seamlessly integrates in the new Microsoft messaging platform. IXI-UMS thus can be applied flexibly – according to the demands: IXI-UMS can be installed as full unified messaging solution with Fax, Voice, SMS and Mobile (remote inquiry). When the company applies Microsoft Unified Messaging with integrated fax reception, voice box and mobility, the IXI-UMS Special Edition provides the lacking features fax sending and fax reception, only fax sending and/or SMS.

Heterogeneous Environments / PBX's

Companies rarely are equipped with homogeneous IT-and PBX-environments. That's why it is important that serVonic's solutions can also be implemented in complex and diversely structured environments.

As standard-based solution, IXI-UMS can be applied in heterogeneous environments: Apart from the parallel operation in different systems like Microsoft Exchange, IBM Lotus Domino, SAP Business Suite or Microsoft Dynamics NAV, IXI-UMS can be integrated flexibly in all the common ISDN- and IP-based PBX-environments. An implementation of IXI-UMS in the environment of virtual machines and Terminal Servers is possible, too. Sophisticated security- and routing-concepts allow the application in challenging large projects with several sites and high demands on security and availability.

IXI-UMS and Media Gateways

The connection of the Microsoft Unified Messaging functionality requires the support of a specific variant of the standard SIP for the telecommunication equipping. This requirement can either be established via SIP-capable PBX's or via a conventional PBX with supplement by a so-called media gateway.

The IXI-UMS software in the Special Edition as completion of Microsoft Unified Messaging with the services "IXI-UMS FaxOut“ or "IXI-UMS FaxOut and SMS“ can be installed on a separate machine or directly on a suitable media gateway such as e.g. Dialogic 3000 Media Gateway.
